I wore scrubs for the first time

Two days ago. Despite living through the peak of the late-nineties-wear-scrubs-to-school fad, I donned a set for the first time at my apartment. I have them so that I can wear them for the Med sports day, which I understand we all will be wearing them and running around like crazy. Anyways, that brings up another point, and that is that I do in fact have an apartment now. It’s pretty close, and takes me 11 minutes to walk to campus and 15 to get to where the lectures are held.

What I don’t have is furniture, but that is slowly changing. I took delivery of a bed, and will hopefully very soon be getting a desk and couch. A fun little feature of the Australian property rental scheme is that tenants are responsible for their own refrigerator, which means I have no fresh food right now.

Also along the lines of what I don’t have is internet at home, but am looking to resolve that fairly soon. I’ll takes some photos to show where I’m living soon. (I updated the “Where’s Dave” link to the left to show where my new place is)

  1. Hey Dave,
I am so glad that you`ve got a place to live finally!! I was really worried about you, and had my whole church in Sylvan Lake praying for you. Whew, that`s a huge relief for you I guess!

Jeff and I are in mexico enjoying one last kick at the can before the baby comes, and we are loving every minute of it. I am really glad that we decided to come on our own this time rather than invite a bunch of friends, because I think we really need time to be together before things get crazy.

The other day I felt the baby move for the first time, that`s a pretty cool sensation!

I hope classes are going well, and you`re suceeding in your new “job”. love ya

  2. Hey AJ!

Good to hear from you. Thank you for your prayers! It is a relief to have a place to live, and now I just need to set up all the other things I need, like a fridge and couch etc. I am still undecided on if I need a TV or not… I just wish I could have brought everything with me!

I hope you’re having a good time in Mexico, I tried to call the other day.

    No Tequila!

That’s exciting about the kicks! I wish I could be there to see it all happen.

Anyways, I’m off to a Research Resource Session (read: how to use the library)
